I used to take photos of myself like this in every house I lived in- full body, straight forward, centred. It was a way of keeping sane. I don’t know why that was. But then I stopped, after I got pregnant and had an abortion. It was a hard time. A lot of things changed in me.
It’s been about two years since I’ve done a self portrait —PROPERLY— like this, the way I did obsessively for at least 4 years before that. I missed approx… 5 houses, plus a 6 month-ish period of homeless-ness/couch surfing.
Feels really, really good to be back in this head space.
